Prime Rib the best and will go back for more! No to mention the coconut cream pie..I'm now adicted to it. Owners and staff extremely friendly and helpful.

We were recommended The Hungry Kiwi Caf & Bar by some other reviews (trip advisor) and checked it out with some locals. It was our favorite place to eat the entire time. Everything from the appetizers to the main course was exceptional. The service was great as well. They do have a great selection of foods on the menu and a good variety of specials, which is good and very affordable for an upscale restaurant on Roatan compare to like all Caribbean islands. Our meal was so wonderful, we enjoyed every bite and had an amazing time every time we ate at the Hungry Kiwi Caf & Bar, and we definitely made the best choice. We recommended this place to everyone we met on the island- Fantastic! Thanks to the locals and vacationers who knows best! -- Jacobus, Lawrenceville GA | |

Best restaurant in Roatan Hungry Kiwi Caf & Bar rate under the top ten.
We recently just returned from a wonderful week in paradise. This was our 4 th time to Roatan in 1 year and we just can't get enough of the place. We were a group of 9 people this time and we stayed at Mayan Princess & Infinity Bay and loved every minute of our vacation. One couple got engaged the day before we arrived and now decided to get married here on this beautiful Roatan in mid August.
When we first arrived, the first stop was to eat lunch at the Hungry Kiwi Caf & Bar with air conditioning inside, which you will definitely want while in Roatan! The taxi driver named Juan from Islander Tours picked us up at the airport very friendly and his van very clean. Not only was he there on time but he helped us with our bags .I highly recommend this to all travelers and not to bother with shuttles to and from the resorts where they transport your luggage on another truck!!(Valuables from tourist did disappear lately). We ate at the Hungry Kiwi Caf & Bar about everyday during our stay because the food is just outstanding .The owners are a young couple from South Africa Adrian & Desiree and who has done great improvements to this restaurant to even serve their customers better. Just check out their menus very professional wonderful people working there, very attentive and were always asking us if we needed anything. We really enjoyed the eating at this upscale restaurant. The Hungry Kiwi served anything on their menu or their daily specials any time of the day, how cool is that?? something you would not see very often with restaurants around the world! Theres not one negative I can say about the Hungry Kiwi Caf & Bar. I rate the Hungry Kiwi Restaurant & Bar the number one restaurant out of the top ten restaurants in Roatan. From the moment we arrived the owner Adriaan was right there checking on us and the staff was simply amazing. All our food was perfectly cooked, the flavor and tasted great, the presentation on our plates and the price was just perfect and never had to wait for anything.... hands down 10 out of 10 for The Hungry Kiwi Caf & Bar Great job !!Great place for a romantic dinner or get away from all the noise and crowds at the West Bay & West End area.
The staff very friendly and competent, they even arranged a birthday celebration for my friends little boy on his 5 th birthday who invited his new friends that he met on the beach, to his party at the Hungry Kiwi. They had made a cake with decorations, balloons and candles and had a kiddies table with kiddies menu and coloring books for the kids how cool was that!!! The little boy said that it was the best birthday party celebrating with is new friends. They make you feel like home with family. The Hungry Kiwi is one of the super clean restaurants to eat and very fresh food cooked while you wait .At first I was scared that being in a foreign country I would get sick and do not want to ruined our vacation, or the food maybe tasteless but it turned out to be really really good, tasty and very fresh. They import all their meat from the USA. The Hungry Kiwi caters for breakfast, lunch & dinner and is well known and famous for their Prime rib, Roasted lamb and Desserts (We can not get enough of the South African malva pudding delicious the best !!). We ate there everyday just to try everything on their menu and their daily specials because its all delicious from Starters, Soups, Salads, Steaks , Seafood , Burgers, Pastas ,Stew dishes and more, all freshly prepared daily. They can prepare any dish for you if they have all the ingredients and you have the time. This is a great place to while away the time before going back to the airport or cruise ship.
Our my trip was awesome and since we have been back I have been telling all my friends about Roatan paradise island in the Caribbean and the Hungry Kiwi Caf & Bar an international styled restaurant specializes in local and international cuisine. We are already planning our next trip back in August for our friends wedding - can't wait!
